6th Grade: Students had the opportunity to look at all the artists chosen for this project and choose one they liked. They used the Cookie Cutter feature in Photoshop Elements t0 shape images of the artist’s work to show their representation of the artist’s work.
7th Grade: Students learned about tessellations and how they are created. In Photoshop, each student created a basic tessellation and then found an artist whose work they felt best correlated with their design.
8th Grade: Students learned about Amos Ferguson and how much of his work focused on nature and the world around him. For this project, they practiced composing different camera shots and experimented with various photo angles, using the Waters garden as their studio. In Photoshop, students used techniques such as adding color to black/white images and adding a blur effect to part of an image.
